What I am really thankful for

Hi all,

I know that my posts have been sparse, far and few in-between. I'm still working a lot of hours and then the two week break from school really hampered my time. The holiday season is always so busy. I'm sure you all know.

But, even though my work hours are still full, on Jan. 3rd, my word count has once again been steadily rising. I'm real happy about that. Then I got to thinking about things I'm really thankful for. So I took a break from writing...well at least on my wip...and decided to share some of the things with you.

This last year has been a spiraling whirlwind of things happening. And I'm thankful for all of it.

My third book, PERFECTION, was completed, edited, and queried. From the queries I've had quite a few requests. A couple of rejections back, but still hope out there. Does this equate a "YES." Not yet. But what is good is that I finally made it to a point where I'm doing something right with my queries AND something within my sample pages is intriguing agents. I'm thankful for that and my fingers are still crossed while I obsess about checking my email.

I'm thankful for my friends that I've met through blogs, twitter, and facebook. Talented agented authors and aspiring writers and agents. All who have helped me shape PERFECTION and I'm hoping will lend their expertise to my current wip when it is done.

Hugs to all of you out there.

I'm thankful for all the beta reads I've been entrusted to do by these same authors and aspiring writers. Not only do I get to read some great books, but it also proves to be a learning experience for me. A win, win situation.

I'm really thankful for the fact that I was lucky enough to conduct interviews with the same people--writers and agents. I got to meet some wonderful new friends, and I loved to have the opportunity to learn a little about them, how they write or the agenting world. I hope my followers also enjoyed the interviews and learned something new.

I'm ultra thankful for my family. They're pretty cool to have around. :) And I'm especially thankful that my daughter and oldest son (who are older and understand a bit better) who are proud of the fact that I'm putting myself out there and following a dream. They really do believe in me.

And I'm thankful for all of you. Although, until my hours shorten back up, my posts might be only a couple a month, I hope you all still come by my blog and leave comments for me to read. I love visitors.

Keep in touch and check back. I do have a couple of author interviews coming up and, hopefully, some more agents will visit too.

Another round of hugs sent out to all of you. I honestly hope the New Year will bring your hard work to fruition. Then you can harvest and enjoy the bounty. :)
